Who we are

Compex (formerly RivalScope) is a competitor-intelligence service for small ecommerce businesses. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what choices you have.

What we collect

• Account info. Your name, email address, and a hashed password.
• Business and competitor URLs. The storefront you connect and the competitor sites you ask us to monitor.
• Contact form submissions. Anything you send us through our Contact page.
• Usage and log data. Pages visited inside the app, timestamps, and similar diagnostic information.
• Billing data. Plan, subscription status, and customer references handled through Stripe.

How we use it

• To run your account and let you sign in.
• To monitor the competitor URLs you provide.
• To generate the weekly AI recommendations.
• To respond to support requests.
• To handle billing and prevent fraud.
• To debug, secure, and improve the product.

We do not sell your data.

AI processing

To produce recommendations, Compex sends a summary of your catalog, your business profile, and publicly-observable competitor signals (prices, promotions, new launches) to a third-party AI provider. We do not send other users' data, and we do not allow your private catalog to be used for third-party model training under those providers' commercial API terms.

Payment data

Payments are processed by Stripe. Compex does not store full card numbers or CVCs; we only keep the customer and subscription references Stripe gives us so we can show your plan and billing status inside the app.

Third-party services we rely on

• Supabase — database and authentication.
• Vercel — hosting (including basic web analytics).
• Stripe — billing and the customer portal.
• Anthropic — the AI provider that generates recommendations.
• Sentry — error monitoring (only if/when configured).

Cookies

We use essential cookies set by our auth provider to keep you signed in. We do not run third-party advertising or marketing pixels.

Data deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing compex.customersupport@gmail.com. Some limited records may be retained where reasonably necessary for billing, tax, fraud prevention, security, or legal reasons.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No online service can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we take this seriously.

Children

Compex is intended for business use and not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the “Last updated” date above when we do.
